> Is there camping & RV Parking at or near the racetrack? Local campgrounds are available, and usually there are race day shuttles to and from town to the track. Of course there are also private properties available to set down your RV / tent on, but these charge an arm and a leg and are to be avoided unless you're in dire straits.

Local Public Transit
Is there transit to the track from L.A?
You bet! Metrolink Train along the San Bernardino County line will take you from San Bernardino to California Speedway for event days. Trip time: 15 mins. Round Trip Cost: Approx. $15. This line, that runs regualarly during the big speedway events & runs for commuters at other times runs between L.A.'s Union Station to San Bernardino. When you get to the track there's a tram (long lines/wait) to get you all the way around the speedway to your gate. Walking might be faster at that point. Still, Kudos to this system. It's a handy, cheap, & low fuss way to go racing! Find Hotels near Amtrak Train Stations in California including L.A.'s Union Station (LAX) and San Bernardino (SNB).
Speedway Security:
Security at the Speedway is world class. The team is huge during race events. All people entering the circuit, as with all recent American super events, are searched. See Speedway official website (link below) for updates on things allowed and prohibited at the venue.
Scalping in California:
It is legal to sell tickets over purchase price (i.e. on the internet or in the newspaper) but you can not sell them at the entrance to the racetrack or in the parking lot.
