A FEW NOTES ABOUT PIKES PEAK Pikes Peak area also boasted the Pikes Peak International Speedway PPIR until it was closed down in November 2005. Pity. It boasted racing by the irl & AMA SUperbike series, as well as NASCAR Busch, USAC to name a few. All things must pass, and lost racetracks are particularly sad occurances. Still there's the most famous hill climb in the world to draw race fans to the peak every summer. Check it out.
