Got Directions?
Brands hatch circuit is exactly 20 miles SE of London's downtown (as the crow flies) however there is not a single form of inexpensive public transport directly from downtown London, that is manageable and that will get you directly to the gate. During non-event times a train is taken from London's Victoria Station (over near the palace) to Swanley station and a cab can be taken for the remaining 5 miles. Trains also run to Swanley from the Medway towns, Seven Oaks and the Kent coast. For more telephone +33 (0) 1732 770111 or check out britrail.net. U.S. travelers call Britrail on 1 877 677 1066.
If you're really keen to find out about coach (that's what the British call buses) transfer from London and between Swanley station, Keep your eye on the the official website for special arangements regarding big weekends, but most likely you'll have to take a cab, hitch, or hoof it the final leg of the journey. Sad but true.
By helicopter Shuttle from London: Do you know???
Local Taxis: Can be found outside Swanley Station for the 5.8 mile journey to the track. Current price for such a trip is 12 GBP each way.

2004 Brands Hatch Fast Drive Experience
On February 21, 2004, the grandprixcities Fan in a Suitcase World Tour" took me to Brands Hatch Circuit just outside of foggy London for a taste of Johnathan Palmers Driving School and a look around the facilities. I had fun taking a ride with Le Mans Porsche driver Piers Masarati and, as always, made a bunch of new friends. With 20 drive the track days scheduled over the Summer of 2004, think about heading out there and driving one of the Formula Cars around the Grand Prix track or, if you're a chicken like me, have yourself a ride with a pro driver at the wheel.
THE PICS
a foggy Kent morning and the sound of racing engines.
Nice mornings
A few lessons about apex driving and stuff...
Nice day
Check out this used car lot! I got into one, and then had second thoughts. To save my dignity I opted for a passenger role, Silly me!
Cool, I thought, I get to have a lap or 2 around the famous Brands Hatch track with a LeMans Porsche driver! Ok...
"Can you show me your licence before we head off?"...
Tell my mom I love her... about to head out. He's grinning under that helmet. He knows how fast this puppy will go! I'm grinning because I DON'T!!!
He was real friendly until he got his "driving eyes" on. Lucky he was watching the road and not me wincing in the seat next to him.
Barrelling down the front straight at some ungodly speed for a V6 MG
So I survived and got a Palmer Sports Cap. Piers and I after hacking on those poor MG breaks for several laps. My knees were shaking... This picture only tells 999 words!
Too much excitement for one revhead on one day. It was time to visit the much recommended Rising Sun pub in nearby Fawkham green for a lovely lunch.
