Kansas City is a split city. One half belongs to Missouri, the other to Kansas. The Kansas Speedway is on the Kansas side.
Ask anyone and they'll tell you that visiting Kansas City may be about a lot of things, inlcuding the racing at the Kansas Speedway 1.5 mile tri-oval and checking out the Harley-Davidson Final Assembly Plant, but the main thing this city is famous for, and crazy about, is BARBEQUE. Not only are there over 90 barbeque joints in its metro area. Heck, the place even has an official barbeque society! Now you know that can't be a bad thing.
